WHAT DO WE DO?

The Community Healing Resource Center (CHRC) Network uses a community-based,

trauma informed, culturally competent approach to reduce violence, promote healing,

and build resilience. By leveraging existing Community Healing Resource Centers

exercise the of best features of community safety, community health and

community organizing to deliver quality services and resources to survivors

(especially gun violence survivors) of trauma with compassion, respect, and care.

The implementation of the CHRC Network includes:

  • Community Outreach & Education

  • Trauma Informed Case Management

  • Clinical Counseling

  • Community Healing & Client Advocacy

Our Commitment to the Community

Community Healing Resource staff members accompany trauma survivors in their journey of rebuilding, restoring, and strengthening their sense of safety. CHRCs staff members provide trauma-informed care by acknowledging how past and present traumatic experiences and stress may impact the individuals and families served. CHRC staff is equipped to support the unique needs of survivors and their families.

  • These services include:

    • Individual and group therapy

    • Support and advocacy groups

    • Outpatient clinical assessments

    • Medication management

    • Safety and self-care guidance

    • Case management

The Second Baptist Church has been committed to serving its community through ministry for over 100 years. Aside from the honorable 41 years of leadership by Rev. James M. Smith, the Church has been under the leadership of Rev. Tyler J Prude for over 30 years. We welcome you!
